Friday - My child played with dust for an hour this morning as I was cleaning up. Sad commentary on my dining room I'd say! Had a ball with the toy dustbuster and a small dustpan and brush. Who knew?
Went to the park after lunch with the little one and several other little people. 2 hours at the park and I was exhausted (why? I didn't run and play). Anyway, then grocery store, home for dinner. 2 pharmacies before bath time for icthamol and tweezers to remove the first splinter my baby's ever had :( Had to dig it out during bath time right before bed :( again!
Got out splinter, read 4 looong books and sleep at last...my turn now!
(Did 4 loads of laundry in between and house looks a mess because 3 year olds can get toys out faster than you can clean...that's a fact!)

IKEA customer service is non-existent!
Called IKEA on Tuesday for relacement part to an item purchased a few years ago. After holding for a bit I was transferred to the "customer service" desk at the Philly location. The customer service at the main number wouldn't help me because I had purchased part of the item by mail and part at the store. Therefore they felt it wasn't their reposibility to help me. This was foreshadowing of things to come...The woman in Philly informed me that they have bins by customer service with extra parts, put in by the recovery department, and customers can walk in and check to see what's there.
Naturally, living 1 1/2hrs away, I asked if she could look in that bin for me. No, that's no their policy. What? It's not your policy to look in the bin? She says only customers can look in the bin. Can these magical bins only be seen by customers? How does the recovery department fill such a bin? Special goggles? Asked her if it's right by her and she says yes... my reponse naturally, in my head, was WTF? I then let her know that she was lucky enough to be the laziest person I had spoken to in quite some time. I stand behind this statement even though I've had some time to consider it since yesterday. That will be my last experience with IKEA! (At least for a few years until the memory fades and they are just added to the list in my mind of the many companies for whom customer service is non-existent. I've found, at least for me, it's easier to accept this kind of treatment when you expect it.)

sleep...
Should be sleeping but fell asleep with my toddler for a few hours and am now WIDE awake...this stinks! May as well start a blog.
Called health insurance company today. Was on hold for 10min. What is wrong with them? Sent mail to them in Feb and "they don't have a record of it". OK! Sure! No problem...while I play with my toddler and clean up dishes and my child needs things every 2 seconds, I'll go right ahead and fax paperwork to them again. My mail arrives every day but I'm sure my paperwork to them just disappeared...
Paid Rx company by phone. That went well. How rare is that? VERY!
Balanced checkbook...always a joy with a toddler next to you!
Had a good time out with the little one today :) Made a stuffed animal at a popular store. Exchanged clothing for said child at another store. So well behaved! Is that my doing or is it genetic? Maybe both? Either way I got lucky! Except for when I'm on the phone...is that a rule?
